The lamination of PVC window profiles with decorative films is influenced by a variety of chemical and physical factors – especially in the reaction of the adhesive and primer systems which are used. The KLEIBERIT product range focuses on the requirements of the new RAL GZ 716 as well as manufacturer requirements regarding faster and safer processing. Reactive hotmelt adhesives based on polyurethane (PUR) offer the most advantages and the best processing properties in combination with all RAL certified primers.

Profile Foaming

To increase the insulation properties, profiles can be filled with special polyurethane foams. This technology is relatively easy to use. During volume expansion, the 2 component PUR foam distributes evenly in the profile chambers.

Window Sills

Windows made from PVC or aluminum profile systems are frequently offered as systems which include window sills . This demands the same requirements and processing properties as for the lamination of window profiles – very good hydrolysis / thermolysis properties as well as high aging resistance.

In the lamination of PVC window profiles, different types of adhesive systems can be used, e.g. solvent based adhesives in combination with hardeners or hotmelt adhesives (thermoplastic, reactive PUR systems).

If the interior side of the PVC profile is also laminated, the same requirement properties concerning process and quality aspects apply to the adhesive / primer systems as for exterior applications and orientation to the RAL GZ 716.
